The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles Game Review

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles Game Review

In the gaming world, there are a set of dominant combinations, for example, it is common to find an action-adventure game, a shooting game, a racing simulation game and many popular combinations, but it is rare to find a game that offers a game. A synthesis of a visual novel or what is known as a visual novel, and this combination gives us the game The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles

Great Ace Attorney Chronicles offers a really unique and generally not very popular experience, at least in our Arab region, as it offers a visual narrative experience mixed with some elements of crime and mystery.

The game is developed and published by Capcom and will arrive on PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on July 27. Fortunately, the Arab Hardware team had a chance to test the game before its release as Capcom sent a preview version to check out and we're already here. Today we will talk about the game in general and first impressions on he - she.

The idea of the game.

The idea of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles revolves around a unique framework, in which it presents a story divided into more than one chapter, and you, as the player, interact with the story by solving some puzzles or choosing some dialogue scripts.

You may think that this is repeated in many games, but not really, dear reader, because here you only interact with dialogues and texts in the game, you do not move with your character and do not press buttons constantly, but rather focus a lot. As you read and trace the events, pick the answers or solve some puzzles from time to time.
The side of mystery and crime.

The side of mystery and crime.

Without any flaming events, the game takes place in a framework of mystery and crime, where the main character of the game falls into a series of successive problems that lead him to be accused of various crimes, and now you and the main character must defend yourself. And prove your innocence.

When trying to prove innocence, you must listen carefully to all the characters in the game and connect the talk with the evidence you have, and then you must prove the contradiction between the evidence you have and the statements of the characters and other witnesses.

This requires an effort on your part to follow all the scripts of dialogue that the characters and other witnesses say, because solving the mystery largely depends on there being very little difference between the witness's account and the evidence at hand.

Fun realistic, crime novels.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles

Well, many people may not know that my original study is straightforward and in fact I really appreciate this one, I love it and am excited about it, so I found the game very interesting and with a certain degree of realism.

The game lists certain information about the crime, such as the cause of death, etc., and the fact that some of this information is completely real, for example, the game reminds you that the victim was killed by a bullet at very close range. The evidence is that there are traces of gunpowder burning on the victim's clothes, and the bullet can cause an entry hole, but it failed to make an exit hole, that is, it did not penetrate the victim's body.

And now for the surprise, dear reader, what I told you is exactly what I studied in forensic medicine during my Master of Laws degree. We were literally studying the entry and exit holes and the difference between them, and the effects of burning skin and clothing. Because of the gunpowder that accompanies the shot.

These little details in the game made me feel the amount of effort invested in it and greatly affected my personal experience with it, but I don't know if everyone will feel the quality I received, or if it will be temporary for most people and its impact. I only by virtue of my specialized studies!

Anyway, during the game you have to examine the evidence, review the accounts of eyewitnesses and remember the different stories that each character tells in the game, and although I know some ideas by virtue of my studies, the game does not need any special requirements .. and anyone can solve puzzles What is required inside it is only by verifying the photos and data in it and linking them to the accounts of eyewitnesses.

Although the game has some realism in terms of describing the location of the crime and the manner of death, the general idea of the crimes in the game is more inspired by the detective novels, that is, it contains a certain degree of fantasy.

Indeed, this amount of imagination was an excellent choice because it wouldn't be fun to investigate a bloody murder like the one we see every day on the news, but on the contrary, it would be fun to investigate a murder with a certain degree of mystery and illogical imagination. Sometimes but in the end it is very coherent and coherent as we see in the novels of Sherlock Holmes or Agatha Christie.

Great music and fine writing.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles

I'll be very honest, personally, I don't prefer games that have very long dialogue scripts, even if it's in a movie scene, and this game has very long dialogue scripts and no cinematic scenes or even subtitles.

However, I really liked these scripts and always attached to them and kept following them and I did not try to evade them in any way and here comes the great in-game writing that urges you to keep reading to discover the mystery. in a crime.

Sometimes the scripts were a bit exaggerated or it wasn't the scripts themselves but the sequence of events, but overall the story was very interesting and the writing made me keep reading the scripts.

The music in the game is beyond the quality of the writing. The music is great, very funny and different, for example, it gets hot and excited when the events in the game get complicated and then becomes quiet music as the events of the game calm down.

A game for a specific class.

This point is just a first impression and not final information, but I think the game may not appeal to everyone because it is not an adventure game with a good story, but just a story game.

This requires the player to constantly watch and read which is quite intense, and this may not appeal to some as the game does not even have an audio performance but is entirely based on reading.

Simply put, the game offers an experience as if you were reading a detective novel, but you have the ability to interact with the events in it, so if you like reading in general, this might be a great experience for you.

Language is essential to the enjoyment of the experience.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles

As mentioned, the game is based on reading the dialogue texts in it and here the importance of the English language appears, because it is literally impossible to follow the events in the game without knowing English.

There are no cinematic scenes that help you to know the events or what the person is saying in the original, some pictures may appear, but it does not help much, but sometimes you find that the game needs a precise knowledge of the language.

In many cases, the knowledge of the puzzle lies in a slight verbal difference between the evidence and the testimony of witnesses, here superficial knowledge of the language is not enough, but the player must have a little proficiency in the English language.

Personally, I've come across some new terms related to homicides or some medical descriptions specifically, and I speak English originally from law school, so I guess it might be a little tricky for someone who doesn't speak English at all.

Conclusion.

The above are only first impressions based on playing parts of the game alone and not a final review and this point needs to be emphasized a lot because the game may have some other elements that we haven't touched.

My first impression of the game can be summed up quite surprisingly, I am literally surprised with this game and in no way expect to enjoy a game in which I read almost only dialogue scripts.

I remember in one session during game testing that I couldn't sleep until I finished the case I was working on, I was very passionate about the events and wanted to know the killer so much.

But at the same time I feel that the game belongs to a somewhat special category, it is not an ordinary game and some may see it as a boring game, but I think that whoever likes reading in general, especially detective novels, will find the fun I found during my gaming experience .
